Eeeeeeee look what I'm getting for my birthday!!! (Well, I'm pretty sure I'm getting it. I slyly put it in my mother's amazon.com shopping basket after gushing about it greatly.) www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0618391118/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glanceIt's the edition with 50 illustrations by Ted Nasmith ^_^ So. I only have to wait until April. Hm dee dmm. I really need to read the Silmarillion again. I still dream myself into Beleriand before I fall asleep at night (I normally follow a simple cycle when it comes to daydreams before falling asleep at night, actually: Middle-Earth, U.S.S. Enterprise, Germany. I'm such a dork But my facts on Middle-earth are getting rusty...It's very sad. I only remembered what Beleriand was because I browsed through my dusty my Atlas of ME today. It's still quite intriguing! Mhmm! So yeah. In other news, I ate an apricot-brandy confection today.

It has been forever and an age since I've read any LotR books or watched the movies even. That book looks REALLY pretty though, so I hope you get it!! Your birthday is in April too? I probably knew that, once upon a time...

Oooh yes it is it's the 19th! What day is yours?
And yeah I guess it is rather hard to read a book that's in a different country....have you tried a library then?

Mine's the 22nd! Good ol' Earth Day. I should have a LotR marathon... then read all the books. I've got like four days until school starts again, I can do it. Why isn't your copy in ye ol' England anymore? Did it run away?

I remember seeing this once in a bookstore when I was in London. I had to be physically dragged away, because there was no room in my bag to bring it back home >__< It is insanely pretty, and I hope you get it. I'm re-reading The Silmarillion now (inspired by watching all the extended ed. dvds again over the holidays), first time in English. It reads far better than the translated Norwegian version. Edited to say: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII VANNA *tacklejumps*

Oh that is a beautiful version of the Silmarillion!!!! I hope you get it Vanna!!!!!
And yaaay now on April 22nd I can eat cake in your honor, Lindy! ;D
And aww Vanna I'm remembering your birthday when we were sneaking pieces of ice cream cake out of your freezer in the closet during our dramazation of the entire LOTR movies back in '04 or '05...that was after the LOTR epic battle pillow fight. Good times...that was the best birthday party I ever went to, haha!
Hmmm I want to go to a London bookstore, Rosie! I plan on going to London someday...when I do I'll tell you on the off chance that you can come by from Norway haha! For Finn it wouldn't be a problem I guess, lol!

I love giving people excuses to eat cake. Yes! Go to London! In fact, go anywhere in England. Oxford is good too. They had a really cool bookstore there last time we went called Blackstones, I believe. It was crammed full of books. I'm pretty sure I left some of my heart there.

Awww yes indeed Mirwen!!! That was one of the most memorable birthdays ever...was that the time I said "their toothpaste is quickening"?
Rosie!!!! *tackles back* So. One day. Me and my friend are going to go to Norway. We are. We decided we would last Sunday, because she's learning Norwegian and I'm learning German, and so going to Norway together is a very logical conclusion. We probably won't go for years now, but I just wanted to give you a heads up, teehee =) And when we come to Norway, I'll bring my copy of the Silmarillion (which I will have by then, April being sooner in its arrival than the next few years, you see) and you can caress it and hug it and gaze at it all you wish ^_^

Ooh yes, their toothpaste is quickening indeed.... *nods solemnly then bursts out laughing*
Perhaps I shall go to Norway one day and when people ask me why, I'll tell them "Well you see I'm looking for my friend Rosie who dances the macarena and wears stealthy sunglasses. Have you seen her? I can't really describe her to you, but in my mind I think she's a hobbit. She's probably taller though in real life. I'm sure she's around here someplace..."
